Butte Creek Weekend rides
Butte Creek offers 3 different weekend horse ride experiences! Lil' Buckaroo; an introduction to horsemanship for Cub Scouts ages 6-9, half day rides; a half day horse ride for Webelos Scouts (at least 10 years of age) or older, and full day rides for Boy Scouts and/or Venturing Scouts.
Reservations are currently being accepted for horse rides between September 2019 - December 2019.
This is a fun instructive introduction to horsemanship for Cub Souts ages 6-9. Scouts will learn about the history and nature of horses; how to be around horses safely; horse care and grooming; basic riding skills and cowboy gear! This event is held in the fully covered riding arena, so weather is never a factor. Two sessions are offered each day, starting at 10am or 2pm. The sessions run about 2 hours and need a minimum group size of 5 participants and have a maximum group size of 10 participants.
Cost: $35 per participant

Half Day Horse Rides-
Scouts, Webelos (at least 10 years of age) have the opportunity to go out for half day rides. Half day horse rides start either at 9am or 1pm and last for about 3 hours and need a minimum group size of 10 participants with a maximum group size of 35 participants. Groups will meet with wranglers at 9am for the Morning Ride or 1pm for afternoon ride to go over some basic horsemanship and riding skills before heading out for the ride.
Cost: $55 per ride

Full Day Horse Rides-
Scouts BSA and Venturing Scouts can do a full day horse ride. Full day horse rides will start at 9am and will go to 4 pm and need a minimum group size of 10 participants with a maximum group size of 35 participants. Riders will need to pack a lunch for their ride. Groups will meet with wranglers at the start time to go over some basic horsemanship and riding skills before heading out for the ride. To Register for a half day horse ride in January you will need to sign up for an am ride and a pm ride.

Adirondacks are avaliable for units that would like to camp over at Butte Creek. You will need to reserve them using the facilities section of the online reservation system. (Adirondacks are no longer first come first served, when arriving at Butte Creek).
If you are making a reservation as part of a Scouting unit, it is important that you use your unit's Tentaroo account and not a personal one. If you are a unit from the Cascade Pacific Council, you already have an account that was created for you. If you do not know you login credentials, please CLICK HERE to request them be sent to you.

Guest groups are required to provide a deposit, certificate of insurance, hold-harmless agreement and rental contract. Details about these forms will be provided by Deanne as part of the reservation process.
Because your reservation stimulates the rate and at times the cost of shoeing the horses, veteranian rotations, training schedules for horses and volunteer wranglers, there are NO refunds within two weeks of your riding day. Prior to two weeks we will refund up to 50% of the fee.
