Rank Advancement and the Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The following questions regarding advancement have arisen as we deal with closures, cancellations, or other issues caused by the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Although there are difficulties and constraints, advancement can continue. Youth, parents, and leaders should work together to implement creative, common sense ways to facilitate advancement while adhering to the Guide to Safe Scouting and following the rules of Youth Protection training.

Welcome to the Columbia River District!

This website is designed for you to find information about what is happening in the Columbia River District and who to contact if you have questions.

A Scouting District is a geographical area of the local BSA Council, determined by the council executive board.  District leaders, typically comprised of key Scouters and civic leaders in the area, mobilize resources to ensure the growth and success of units within the district's territory.  Districts are responsible for carrying out four primary functions; membership, finance, program, and unit service.

We serve Vancouver, Camas, Washougal, Hockinson, Battle Ground, Amboy, Salmon Creek, Ridgefield, LaCenter and other surrounding areas in Clark County.

Benefits of Scouting

The Scouting movement provides superb opportunities for youth and adults to gain experience in outdoor skills, leadership, and meet friends with many talents.
